Twice I was proposing Roberto Gatto (1958) in the Netherlands.
The first time was in February 2000 when he collaborated with Rita Marcotulli, Javier Girotto and Pietro Ciangaglini two concerts.
Paradox in Tilburg and in the Bimhuis.
It was my way to celebrate my 55th anniversary.
In February 2004 he came back again with Rita Marcotulli and none other than Swedish bassist Palle Danielsson. They were invited by Eric Vloeimans and they were in the Bimhuis, in Rotterdam, Arnhem and in Paradox / Tilburg. After this brief tour, they went into the studio and took the CD Hidden History, which is released by Challenge Records.
Gatto is one of the driving forces in Italy. Numerous groups he has led, many musicians became known by working with him. Some names, Bearzatti Francesco, Gianluca Petrella.
Roberto lives in Rome but has a house in Umbria too. There he organizes each summer a festival, where he invites all kind of interesting Italian bands.
Another example of him constantly being busy. In Arnhem, he arranged, while we were having dinner, a composition for this occupation. It was then that night unprepared played with verve by these four giants .
