Fabrizzio was born in Torino - Italy - on November 5 1973.At the age of 5 years he began to study trumpet with his father, trumpet player too. At the age of 15 he graduated in trumpet at G. Verdi Conservatory in Torino. While studing classical music he approached jazz music playing in Big Band (12 years) and small combos.

In 1990, he was awarded a scholarship and attended the summer seminar at the "St. Mary College" in Washington.

In 1993, as a member of "Paese degli spechi orchestra" in Bologna, he toured in Italy with George Russell, Mike Gibbs, Kenny Wheeler, Dave Liebman, Carla Bley and Steve Coleman.

In 1994 he won the "Summertime in jazz" competition as better soloist and best band with his quintet.

From 1994 Fabrizio Bosso teaches instrumental technique and jazz improvisation in several schools and conservatories.

His style is rather related to hard bop jazz but he ads great virtuosity.

On 4th of  July 2009 I attended a concert of his quintet Latin Mood at Brunico (Italy).

With him were bass player Luca Bulgarelli, piano player Natalio Mangalavite, saxophone player Javier Girotto, Lorenzo Tucci on drums and Marcozzi on percussion.

In an odd place ( the loading dock area  of Innerhofer, a large retailer of kitchen equipments, one of the important sponsors of the festival) the quintet performed an inspired concert. Despite the unexpected place the sound was like you can find in a large concert hall!

The next day at noon (July 5 2009) Bosso met Mangalavite and Girotto again in a very small courtyard of a bar in the city of Bressano.

Bressano is situated close to Bolzano and turned out to be a nice small city with lovely squares and a lot of nice corners.
