Tekstvak: Following Girotto everywhere in Europe I also made video registrations. Some of them you will find on YouTube. And I give you a selection here.

Javier Girotto was born in Argentina. He went to the renowned Berklee College in Boston and after some wanderings he settled permanently in Rome. I had the pleasure to meet him in 1997 when he was part of a quartet of pianist Rita Marcotulli.
Besides soprano Javier regularly plays baritone and he often treats that instrument in a percussive manner. Moreover, in his luggage a quena (a small flute) and one by an Argentine friend built bass like flute. But you should not be surprised to meet him using  a sampler and effect devices. In short, a multi-instrumentalist who draws the world with many original compositions.
Javier loves adventure and versatility.

The list of names with whom he worked with  is too long to mention. His main projects are;

Aires Tango

Duo Girotto/Biondini

Vertere string quartet featuring Javier Girotto.

A bit of Dutch history:
In 2008 he was found in the North Sea Jazz Festival together with Luciano Biondini, but also as a soloist with the Parco della Jazz Orchestra.
In February 2007, the duo with  Biondini was guest of foundation  Jazz in Arnhem, and a tour of 6 concerts followed on the main Dutch stages.

In 2004 he was with his Aires Tango in Oss and Arnhem.

And in 2000 he was with Rita Marcotulli and her quartet  in my birthday festival at Paradox (Tilburg) on 25 February. The next day they performed in the Bimhuis.

Some 25 kilometers north of Rome you can find Lago Bracciano. A nice place to be and escape the summer warmth of the city.

In the small village of Bracciano Javier Girotto performed on 14th of July in duo in a small courtyard.

Javier Girotto

Sunday 13-9-2009 I had the pleasure to be back in Rome once again. At the Casa del Jazz, Javier recorded a life concert with his group Aires Tango. Special guest was Luciano Biondini.

The sound was great, the atmosphere inspiring and the audience (all friends invited for the occasion) showed a lot of enthusiasm.
