Simin Tander is still young and at the start of a promising career.

Half German, half Afghan  she came to  Arnhem to complete her musical studies at the conservatory.

In 2008 she got her Master degree. With her band SIMIN she already was in several festivals both in Germany and the Netherlands.

Simin writes her own music and lyrics, is highly original and her voice is full of nuance with a great viarity in sound. And with that splendid voice she not only sings lyrics but in an adventurous way she can perform complex vocal improvisations too.

.A promise for the future and a gain in the spectrum of jazz!!

Ladies in Jazz

On Friday 30-10-2009 Simin presented her new band at club Klangbruecke in Aachen (Germany). Piano player Jeroen van Vliet decided to join the band. So there is a new line up:

Cord Heineking (double bass), Etienne Nillesen (drums), Jeroen van Vliet (piano), Simin Tander (vocals, composition).

The result was great and promising for the nearby future.

Simin is going to tour along Dutch venues in spring of 2010. Because she was selected to be the Young Vip 2010. The other band will be the Joris Posthumus quartet. Joris also was selected as Young VIP. Two interesting young musicians will share there talent in a double bill program.

On 5-2-2010 Simin Tander performed at the Toonzaal in ‘s Hertogenbosch. She had to find a substitute for her piano player Jeroen van Vliet. Her choice, Florian Weber, turned out to be the perfect one.

More  pictures and clips, made during rehearsal time you can find on the pages about Florian Weber.

I added some clips of Simin, in performance at the Bimhuis, starting the Young VIP tour 2010.

You will find them following the next link.
